KRISTAN HAWKINS, YOU'RE IN TROUBLE

George Offerman

There has already been significant fallout and discussions all over the blogosphere concerning the incident involving the unceremonious expulsion of Rabbi Yehuda Levin from the Students for Life convention last Sunday. Many of those who have been in this movement for longer than Kristan Hawkins has been alive are disheartened with the naïveté and stupidity shown by this move, are beyond the ability to express their feelings over this outrage. Instead of treating this man of God as the pro-life hero he is, he was discourteously and disrespectfully thrown out of an event in which he should have been given high honors.

Kristan Hawkins does not like Randall Terry or the brand of activism that Randall Terry embraces. Kristan Hawkins is also a very young individual, and would have been in diapers and watching Sesame Street when Randall Terry came on the scene and nearly single handedly created a movement that not only changed the nature of the legalized child killing debate, but caused such political waves, that the heinous and evil Roe decision was at great jeopardy of being overturned. Those involved and actively in the movement remember the passion and excitement in what seemed the likelihood of the end of legalized childhood killing as we know it. The FACE laws (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances) was legislated and passed as a reaction to Operation Rescue’s efforts and signed into law by Bill Clinton. At that time, there were many ‘Giants’ in the pro life movement such as John Ryan, and Joan Andrews Bell, as well as the very influential Rabbi Yehuda Levin, and they were fairly unified in their thoughts and actions regarding the need to end legalized child killing.

It was through the blood, sweat and tears of these pioneers that have paved the way for the current crop of leaders/managers, and without their efforts, this movement would have died a long time ago. These men and women have proven their value to the pro-life movement through the crucible of fire and trials that the current leadership has not had to pay, and appears to have no knowledge of, nor any concern over. The current leadership through their ‘sophisticated’ thinking and ‘know it all’ attitudes, believes this war is ‘winnable’ through incremental change, sanitized language, ‘getting along’ with the enemy, removal of graphic images, ‘virtual protests’, ‘education’ and ‘changing hearts’. We see by the results how well this strategy is working (lousy) and the utter disrespect paid to the pioneers and trailblazers of this movement.

Those representing Randall Terry, in fact, did attempt to register as media at the conference, and after initial acceptance was escorted out of the hotel. Jack Ames of Defend Life, who did pay for a table, was informed he could not distribute literature pertaining to Randall Terry’s campaign. So we see, there was a deliberate icing out by Kristan Hawkins of any mention of Randall Terry’s candidacy, and this demonstrates an icing of Randall Terry, and made no difference whether invited or not. Also, as another point to be made, generally pro-life groups support and allow for other groups to get messages out and use these forums in the spirit of Christian Charity. After all, it used to be implied that WE ARE ON THE SAME SIDE and as such, supported each other’s efforts. We were not there to disrupt, protest or create problems for the Students for Life people, but to get out the message of Randall Terry’s candidacy, and expand upon the success of Missy Smith’s campaign in showing the graphic nature of legalized child killing to the nation.

Rabbi Yehuda Levin and Andrew Beacham went in with cameras to interview students as they came out on break. The sponsors of the event, the Alliance Defense Fund’s media relations for both Students for Life America and the Alliance Defense Fund gave permission for Rabbi Yehuda Levin and Andrew Beacham to be there. (This whole interaction was caught on video, and will be released shortly). In fact, the Media Relations director would have like to have Rabbi Levin speak, but mentioned they were behind in their schedule, and thus, could not do this. This decision was then challenged by Kristan Hawkins and Students for life, and enforced by Bryan Kemper of stand true ministries. Here is one of the true ‘giants’ in the pro-life movement present at an event that could of and would of benefited greatly by the Rabbi’s experience, evicted from a pro-life conference by 2 hotel security guards at the bequest of Kristan Hawkins and Bryan Kemper.

Rabbi Levin then made this statement from stage yesterday concerning the nature of the pro-life movement in general, and the new leadership/management style embraced by the likes of Kristan Hawkins:

"My dear friends do you want to know why the pro-life movement is more static than more dynamic?

"Could it be because yesterday Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life and her sponsors, the Alliance Defense Fund, had 'no room at the inn' for myself and other rabbis representing 850 other rabbis of the Rabbinical Alliance of America? I was forced out by two hotel security people; never did the abortionists of the liberals do this to me. We're owed an apology. We've been fighting for life for 32 years."

Rabbi Levin hit the nail on the head by calling this behavior out, and questioning the integrity and abilities of the so called ‘pro life leaders’ who act more like managers of corporations than of a movement. It is horrible when those who put in the work are ostracized by those who have no clue on how to get the job done, but want to be seen as the ‘big shots’ and ‘movers and shakers’ of a now institutionalized ‘pro life movement’. Shame has reached an unimaginable level now, and these people have no clue and no plan on ending this holocaust. People like Kristan Hawkins will continue to sell herself as an innovator and leader, while condemning and disrespecting those whose shoulders she is unworthy to be standing on.

If I were in charge of the Alliance Defense Fund, I would be furious and embarrassed over this fiasco. I would be apologizing to Rabbi Levin, as well as promising to give him a keynote speaking slot, and may well relegate Kristan Hawkins role as spectator, at best. If Ms. Hawkins gets the gravity of the situation, she will be falling all over herself to rectify this situation and make the necessary personal changes merited for such a situation to assure it never happens again.

I attended Ms. Hawkins speech at the John Paul II Center in October 2009 to hear her speak. (Post is in the archives section, October 13 titled: The (un) inspiration of Kristan Hawkins). In that speech, Ms. Hawkins discussed Overturning Roe, but had no plan or vision on how this will be accomplished. Ms. Hawkins went into details about growing college campuses and groups, but did not advocate showing graphic pictures, challenging the language used, did not advocate any use of civil disobedience and seemed to promise a ‘clean’ fight by promoting such things as ‘virtual’ protests, prayer circles, ‘education and changing hearts’ as a means of change, but no tangible plans that actually makes child killing illegal. Her advice for those 40+ in age: volunteer at CPC’s and do maintenance work.

We, who have been in this movement for the majority of the time legalized child killing has been the 'law of the land', understand that in order to end this holocaust, there must be a tireless, fearless band of warriors on the ground engaged in battle, and using graphic images, harsh rhetoric, the truth of God and the backing of both Church and Laity to change the LAWS of this land. The way to do this is to engage the forces of death by making them LOOK AT THEIR HANDIWORK. This campaign is not about Randall Terry; it is about showing the dead babies to those who want to call this ‘choice’. Anyone with a ‘set’ and is willing to put up with the heat is welcome into this camp. We are looking for those with the guts to stand up and show the world what legalized child-killing looks like.

Given that it is apparent Ms. Hawkins does not have the experience and knowledge that the early pioneers of this movement has, I will personally put forth a challenge to Ms. Hawkins. I will fully support you, and encourage everyone I Know, as well as being able to commit the resources of our Insurrecta Nex team if you are willing to run for public office and show graphic commercials on television, for all of America to see. It will be in this, that you demonstrate the true leadership of those, such as Rabbi Levin and Randall Terry and earn for yourself, the respect and privilege of being a national leader. This is the way legalized child killing will end, by showing the forces of hell and death the fruits of their labor in all of its ugliness and evil. Running and hiding from this reality only plays into the culture of death’s hands, and is the true mark of mediocrity.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE WORDS MAKE

George Offerman

I am posting an article from Fars News Agency, located somewhere in the Middle East, and they are strong believers and defenders of the RELIGION OF PEACE. Notice how these official representatives of the RELIGION OF PEACE refer to peoples who disagree with them, and dare tear out pages from the Koran, the book of the RELIGION OF PEACE. Yet these same representatives of the RELIGION OF PEACE have no difficulty in calling for the grisly killing of the ‘infidels’ who commit such blasphemous acts. The RELIGION OF PEACE also does not acknowledge their desire to ‘blow Israel off the map’ or any of the other atrocities targeted at Christians on a daily basis. No, tearing out pages from an antiquated book is far worse than killing real human beings in the most grisly fashion. Gee, let’s all join the RELIGION OF PEACE and get saved!

The point in this is, notice the potency of the language used by the RELIGION OF PEACE and juxtaposes this to the milquetoast expressions and words used by the Church and pro life movement here, and one can understand why most fear reprisals from the RELIGION OF PEACE. The sad part of this is that most of the lukewarm Christian world would agree with the RELIGION OF PEACE, and are scared into their kitchens and Churches when the RELIGION OF PEACE does things like, KILLING MILLIONS of Christians in one of the world’s greatest purges of any religion against another. The RELIGION OF PEACE is not challenged, and most of the world seems to be afraid of those in the RELIGION OF PEACE, a rather ironic state of affairs.

"American statesmen and authorities should give a clear answer to the Muslim nations over this bold and insulting act," Mottaki told reporters in a joint press conference with his Malawian counterpart here in Tehran today.

The minster blamed Zionists for such provocative moves, which he said are aimed at sowing discord among believers of different faiths and religions.

He further warned about the negative consequences of insult to the values of 1.5 billion Muslims, and said, "This seed of hatred sown by the West and its resulting fire will cause trouble for them themselves."

The remark by the Iranian foreign minister came after a group of conservative Christians have sent shock waves across the world after they tore the pages of Quran outside the White House. They tore the pages from an English paperback edition of the Holy Book.

Also some blasphemers in the US on Saturday took the satanic step of burning some copies of God's final and most comprehensive revelation to mankind, the Qur'an, and posted video clips of their devilish deed on the net.

The blasphemer appeared near the location of the twin-tower centre in New York and set ablaze a copy of Quran in front of the camera.

Several photographers, cameramen and others took pictures and clips of the blasphemous act carried out under the protection of FBI on the pretext of freedom of action.

The move has shocked the civilized world and hurt the sentiments of over 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide and billions of other believers.

Could we even begin to imagine if the pro life movement had the potency of the RELIGION OF PEACE and change the way the country thinks by putting out press releases that merely imply we could throw all the bums out of office? Pro lifers would never have a tenth of the gumption these people have when asserting their faith, and thus do not have any of the results of ending legalized child killing. But back to the RELIGION OF PEACE.

The RELIGION OF PEACE is so phony in their ideas of peace that they can’t even live in their own skins. There is no possible way that anyone of sound reasoning can look at what the RELIGION OF PEACE attempts to sell as their true theology versus what they actually do, and that is to kill anyone who disagrees with them. It is a perverse reminder of the Marlon Brando line in “The Godfather” “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse”.

No one can take these people seriously, when they kill so easily, and then claim to be the RELIGION OF PEACE. They think that tearing pages from a book is the same as brutally murdering people. Were these people educated in American schools? These are the people that breed hatred, not Christians who want to spread the Gospel. Threatening to kill people is not the way to use FREE WILL to get one to worship Jesus Christ, the TRUE SAVIOR of the world (not Mohammed). The RELIGION OF PEACE is the one who declared fatwa on us, not the other way around. Liars will always be liars, but the truth will win out in the end.

WHY I WAS AT THE WHITE HOUSE

George Offerman

Andrew Beacham, who is associated with Randall Terry and the Insurrecta Nex team, decided to go in front of the White House on 9-11 and protest the latest ‘controversy’ over the acceptance, tolerance and spreading of Islamic influence in this country. It is interesting how from Obama on down, want to bend over backwards and press for country wide acceptance of the Muslims ‘constitutional right’ to build a victory mosque near ground zero, but want to deny our constitutional right of freedom of speech in declaring our beliefs on the subject.

I agreed to participate in this protest because it seems like the right thing to do. I am very tired of this RELIGION OF PEACE being presented as the beacon of peace, when our own president ‘warned’ us of the ‘violent repercussions and al queda recruitment tool’ that burning or destroying the ‘Holy book’ of the RELIGION OF PEACE could and would bring. It is more than ironic that we have the most to worry about from the RELIGION OF PEACE by doing nothing more than challenging them and questioning their motives without some veiled, or direct threat from the representatives of the RELIGION OF PEACE.

The Iman, in charge of the proposed Mosque, sent Obama a thinly veiled threat when he boldly declared “Moving the location of the Mosque WILL HAVE NATIONAL SECURITY IMPLICATIONS”. Wow, it sounds like the RELIGION OF PEACE is making wholehearted efforts to reach out with an olive branch and attempting to appease this nation, whose birth was directly attributed to Judeao-Christian values. NOT! The RELIGION OF PEACE will utilize our laws against us in the name of expanding their influence, while having one of their main Iman’s in this country clamor for laws like the Sharia laws currently practiced in other countries. It seems the RELIGION OF PEACE will continue pressing and demanding our tolerance for their ways until they can impose their intolerant ways upon us.

When the RELIGION OF PEACE can hoodwink the majority that tearing up a book is worse than beheading, imprisoning, raping and pillaging MILLIIONS of people, such as in the Sudan over the past couple of decades, the majority has an issue with understanding basic morality. It is not the issue of destroying a book for the sake of destroying a book, the issue at hand is the fact the book that was destroyed calls for the active killing and/ or imprisonment of those who do not believe in that book. And the fact that our so called president validated that destroying the book will result in violence, goes to show the RELIGION OF PEACE has no intention of quelling any firestorm that follows ANY CRITICISM of their religion.

The RELIGION OF PEACE wants to place ‘extremists’ from Christianity on the same page as the Extremists’ in Islam. What it seems the RELIGION OF PEACE conveniently forgets is there are not now, or ever been suicide/homicide bombers from the Christian persuasion. There are not now or ever been whole sects of Christianity that have vowed to ‘wipe off the face of the map’ a whole people as many in the RELIGION OF PEACE are doing with Israel. There are not now, or ever been millions forced at the point of sword or gun to ‘convert or die’, or had their wives and children taken as slaves and concubines. There are not now, or ever been “Pastors’ going into Islamic capitols and making threats that if churches are not built near mosques or in prominent places ‘national security’ would be at stake. Christianity does not teach, nor ever has that a Christian should kill defenseless non combatants for not converting, or for the sake of creating terror. How is destroying a book on the same moral plane as these?

The RELIGION OF PEACE has no moral authority to discuss or dictate the moral and ethical resolve of peace and non violence to those it would eliminate if it had the chance. Based upon the past century or so, it is very clear that it is Islam, in general, that has been on a bloody footing, and not Christianity, as evidenced by their actions, and the threats spewed towards the west if the west ‘does not change its ways”. Keep this truism in mind, the next time someone wants to criticise Christians: Jesus, the founder of Christianity never killed anyone, and DIED to start Christianity. Mohammed, the “Prophet” PERSONALLY KILLED and personally ordered the death of thousands. Now, who is the more peaceful founder?

THE PRO LIFE MOVEMENT MUST COVER THE PRO LIFE MOVEMENT

George Offerman

I am thankful that Steve Ertelt has committed his time and talents to the pro life cause by writing about many of the issues pertaining to the pro life movement. There is an ever growing need for more people to stand up and have their voices heard, to change the status of legal child killing in this country to making it illegal. However, the pro life movement has many strategies in which to get that done, and it is imperative that our side not be outdone by the enemy.

This is where Steve Ertelt falls short. I am not sure how involved Mr. Ertelt has been involved in the front line work of the pro life movement, but it becomes more apparent by his blatant omissions of the most pivotal news in over a decade, that Mr. Ertelt either does not understand the nature of the battle, or is blatantly disregarding this news, due to the nature of being ‘uncomfortable’ with what is being done. Either way, as Christians, we call this sins of omission, sins of commission, sins of silence.

For whatever reason, Mr. Ertelt continues to ignore the elephant in the room, and has not covered in any was, shape or form, the 8 state tour that made national news, and reached virtually millions of people. The secular press, often cited as the eyes and ears of the enemy not only covered the 8 state tour, but actually gave some favorable press. Life news was too busy covering the stories that were more peripheral, and were covered more in depth by the mainstream media.

Steve Ertelt made no efforts to cover the press conferences, protests efforts and huge success these 5 brave souls obtained during this road trip. If life news was the only source for pro lifers, these events never would have been covered or known about. Yet the likes of CNN, FOX and other outlets covered the press conferences, ran very accurate quotes from theses 5, and shown the graphic signs in print and on camera. This group has LEAD the debate on legalized child killing for the past several months at many different events, and Mr. Ertelt is not showing the least amount of interest in covering this, nor showing the wisdom or understanding that it is the tactics used by this brave band of people that are driving the debate.

Mr. Ertelt does not seem to understand that as a commentator, he does not make the news, but reports it. Mr. Ertelt is attempting to drive the debate according to his very limited understanding of the history of social change, coupled with his reluctance to engage the enemy with the force needed to win, and wants the respect of news outlets and other players more than winning this war. Mr. Ertelt does not know how to win this war, and it is becoming more painfully obvious by his blatant disregard for real news items.

I have a personal challenge for Mr. Ertelt. Google Randall Terry, Joseph Landry, Diana Roccograndi, Missy Smith, Andrew Beachem. You will find more hits on them in the past several months than you have readers for your site. Next, get yourself out to an abortion clinic and work the front line, organize a protest or press release at any of the cathedrals in which a Bishop has a wayward politician violating Church law. Personally show up at a Representatives or Senator’s office and demand they behave according to their alleged ‘faith walk’. Be willing to, and get arrested for this cause. I know of what I speak, because I have either done or been involved in all of the above, and I also know it works. Evidently you do not.

I also am making a request that you don’t complain about the lack of ‘fair press’ at the next right to life march. As much as this is a ‘feel good’ event for many pro lifers, it is not news worthy as far as the mainstream media is concerned, because it is the same thing every year, and it has been proven to be a non sequitor for those in power. Having one percent of the attendees get arrested would make international headlines for months, but the traditional pro life movement, represented by people who think like you would condemn this and want to distance yourself from such ‘extremists’. Continue playing by the rules of the enemy, and continue propagating the culture of legalized child killing and let’s see what happens.

I am encouraging people to write to Steve Ertelt and tell him he needs to cover all pro life news, and not try to be the ‘news maker’ when he is a commentator.
