I have been reading chuck Baldwin’s essays for years, and I believe this is one of his best. Take the time to read through the whole essay, and please feel free to pass this on to anyone who wants clarification of the real war we are in.

What Will They Say To Say To Shadrach, Meshach, And Abednego?

Let me start with a story. A man who had survived the great Johnstown

flood died and went to Heaven. And not long after, all of the

inhabitants of Heaven were allowed to take center stage and tell

everyone about the most significant event that had happened to them

while on Earth. The man couldn’t wait to tell everyone about his

surviving the great Johnstown flood. After a long wait in line, it was

finally his turn. The man was so excited to tell everyone his story.

But just as he was climbing the stairs to the platform, an angel

leaned over to him and whispered, “Don’t forget; Noah is in the

audience.”

I am reminded of that story when I read the Scriptural passage in

Hebrews 12: “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so

great a cloud of witnesses.” The witnesses the Apostle speaks of are

the great champions who have gone on before us, which are mentioned in

chapter eleven. Included by implication in the great “Hall of

Faith” of Hebrews 11 are the three young Hebrews: Shadrach, Meshach,

and Abednego (verse 34, “Quenched the violence of fire.”)

So, what was it that got these three young men included in this list

that along with the likes of Abraham, Moses, and David? You’ll find

their story in Daniel chapter three. In a nutshell, they refused to

bow down to the image of the king. In other words, THEY DISOBEYED A

CIVIL GOVERNMENT THAT HAD BECOME TYRANNICAL. And for refusing to

submit to the king, they were thrown into a burning fiery furnace.

Come to think of it, many of the people named in the Hebrews 11

“Hall of Faith” got there because of civil disobedience. Speaking

of Moses, the Scripture says, “By faith he forsook Egypt, not

fearing the wrath of the king.” So, when did Moses forsake Egypt?

When he killed the Egyptian taskmaster who was beating a Hebrew slave

to death. That’s when!

Rahab is also mentioned in this Biblical “Hall of Faith.” Who was

Rahab, and what did she do? She was a prostitute who lied to

government soldiers and helped the Hebrew spies escape the city of

Jericho. Gideon, Barak, Samson, and Jephthae are also listed. Who are

they, and what did they do? They were men who led armed rebellions

against oppressive governments to which they had been subject.

Daniel is inferred in Hebrews 11 when it says, “Stopped the mouths

of lions.” What did he do? He refused to submit to his civil

government when commanded to not pray aloud (for only thirty days).

And for refusing to submit to his government, he was cast into a den

of hungry lions. Yes, God delivered Daniel from the lions and the

three young Hebrews from the burning furnace of fire. But the point

is, they each DISOBEYED civil government, and God brags on them for it

in Hebrews 11.

So, what are all these “Romans 13-ers” going to say to Daniel,

Moses, and Gideon when they get to Heaven? What are they going to say

to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? What are they going to say to

those men who “overthrew kingdoms” (Heb. 11:33), “waxed valiant

in combat” (vs. 34), and “turned to flight . . . armies”?

(Armies are government-sanctioned, government-supported,

government-ordered entities--vs. 34.)

I cannot count the number of times I have heard some TV or radio

preacher say something to the effect, “Well, I’m glad we were

given freedom here in the United States, but our Founding Fathers were

wrong to rebel against the British Crown. According to Romans 13, they

should have submitted to King George.” Barf! Gag! Spit! What

hypocrisy!

To all of the Romans 13 Pharisees out there, I say, if you are really

going to believe and preach that garbage, at least be honest enough to

stop celebrating Independence Day on July 4. It was the day when men

became traitors to Great Britain and officially declared a

revolutionary war. And stop flying the Stars and Stripes in your

church auditoriums. It was the flag of rebellion. How dare you say

America’s founders violated Romans 13 in one breath and with the

next breath say you thank God for the freedom that was purchased AT

THE SACRIFICE OF THE BLOOD OF THE MEN YOU SAY VIOLATED ROMANS 13!

Pardon me, but I just cannot think of anything that is more

hypocritical than that!

And remember this about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: it was AFTER

they disobeyed their king and were thrown into the furnace of fire

that they met the Son of God. It was King Nebuchadnezzar who said,

“I see four men loose . . . the fourth is like the Son of God.”

(Daniel 3:25)

Think about it: where did Moses meet the Lord? In the wilderness by a

burning bush after he had defied Egyptian tyranny by killing an

Egyptian taskmaster who was beating a Hebrew slave to death. Where did

Gideon meet the Lord? In a threshing floor as he willowed his grain in

defiance of evil civil authority. When did Stephen meet the Lord? When

political and religious leaders were stoning him to death for refusing

to submit to their iniquitous injunctions. And think of this, too:

where did the Lord Jesus meet man? On a bloody Roman cross--being

placed there by the civil and religious rulers of His day.

Most Christians today are looking to meet the Lord in a heated or air

conditioned church sanctuary with padded pews and ornate windows, with

an orchestra playing and a choir singing, and fried chicken waiting

for them after the service. But that’s not where you’re going to

find the Fourth Man.

When you resist the religious Pharisees who are trying to intimidate

and coerce you into submitting to their legalism and tyranny, then you

will see the Fourth Man. When you resist the power establishment that

demands that you accept their politically correct philosophies and

ideologies, then you will see the Fourth Man. When you refuse to be

bought, bribed, or bullied by the “good old boy” network that

seeks to control you, then you will see the Fourth Man. When you

resist your family and friends who try to shame you into abandoning

the principles of liberty and freedom that God, Himself, has planted

in your heart, then you will see the Fourth Man. When you are

threatened and persecuted and you say, “I must obey God rather than

men,” then you will see the Fourth Man.

Do you really think you’re going to find the One who went to a

bloody cross in a meadow of roses? The only roses He knew were the

ones whose thorns were smashed on his skull. You won’t find him in a

garden, unless it’s the Garden of Gethsemane. You’ll find the One

who went to the Cross in the same place that Shadrach, Meshach, and

Abednego found Him: in the Burning Fiery Furnace.

God said told us that when we pass through the floodwaters, and when

we walk through the fire, we would find Him to be with us. (Isaiah

43:2)

Of course, let me be careful to say that real Christians are

peacemakers. They desire to live a quiet and peaceable life with their

neighbors, their civil authorities, and even with other nations. They

readily recognize and respect lawful, God-ordained authority. But, at

the same time, they will not surrender that which is holy and give it

to swine! They absolutely will not become toadies for unlawful

government that attempts to usurp the God-given authority and

jurisdiction to which it has been divinely assigned!

I am often reminded of this quote from Mahatma Gandhi: “There are,

I am sorry to say, many Temples in our midst in this country which are

no better than brothels.”

Gandhi's quote could be said of many so-called churches in America

today, for they, too, have become little more than glorified brothels

that pimp for the government. “Submit! Obey! Don’t resist!” they

constantly preach. I wonder what they will say one day to Shadrach,

Meshach, and Abednego?

Mother’s Day! I thank God for my mother. I wish she were still here,

so I could personally tell her that I love her.

COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE

I am requesting that the reader take the time to read this whole post by Chuck Baldwin.  It is very relevant in how the Church operates today, and it is very good to see that someone else is preaching the same message as many of us are.

It is no hyperbole to say that the vast majority of today’s

churches do not remotely resemble the New Testament pattern. In the

first place, the Church was never intended to be a government

corporation! Yet, that is exactly what every 501c3 non-profit

"religious" organization is: it is a government-created

corporation. In the eyes of the government, pastors, elders, and

deacons are not pastors, elders, and deacons; they are corporate

officers. And put to the test, virtually any and all of these

so-called "pastors," "elders," and "deacons," will confirm

that they are corporate officers. So, right out of the gate we must

understand that we are dealing with government corporations and

corporate officers, not with New Testament churches, pastors, elders,

and deacons.

 

Pray tell, where do you find anything in the New Testament about

churches joining with the State, or being incorporated by the State,

or being required to submit to the State? It’s not there! The 501c3

corporation status has turned the Lord’s Church into mere creatures

of the State.

 

Therefore, please remember, when you "worship" inside these

government corporations, when you give your tithes and offerings to

these government corporations, you are NOT supporting "the Lord’s

work." You are supporting the work of the State. You might as well

be paying taxes; it amounts to virtually the same thing. The same is

true for all these TV preachers. They are all 501c3 incorporated!

This is why many pastors do not speak out on the burning issues of

the day. This is why neither he nor his church will take a stand for

anything. This is why he won’t "get involved in politics." He is

a corporate officer of the State, and he will not jeopardize his

standing as such.

 

I don’t care how "nice" the preacher is! It matters not how

knowledgeable you think he is of the Scriptures. It doesn’t amount

to a hill of beans if he knows Hebrew and Greek and how many degrees

he has behind his name. If he is a corporate officer of the State, he

will never preach the "whole counsel of God;" he will never be

willing to stand in front of his congregation and tell "the truth,

the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help him God." He

won’t do it! Why? He knows he is a State corporate officer, and he

knows where the line is drawn. Ditto for the church deacons and

trustees (I mean, corporate officers) that support him.

 

If the so-called "Religious Right" would get as excited about

replacing these government-toadies (called pastors) that we have in

our "churches" and putting honest-to-God, tell-it-like-it-is,

fearless prophets in their pulpits as they are about replacing a

"liberal" and putting some so-called "conservative" Republican

in the White House, we really could have revival in America! The

problem is not the White House; the problem is the church house!

Is it any wonder that the donor base for these religious-talking

Republican politicians is mostly identical to the donor base for these

religious-talking government corporations called churches? They are

Siamese twins! This is why the "Religious Right" will never offend

the GOP establishment: they are both sucking from the same teat! And

the sow providing the milk for both is the federal government, via its

non-profit corporation status, corporate welfare programs, and endless

cash for the Warfare State.

 

Just look at the behavior of the people attending these government

corporations. What do you see? Gossip, slander, backbiting, nosiness,

jealousy, resentment, bickering, judgmentalism, and downright hatred

is rampant! Church splits are commonplace. These government

corporation "Christians" will betray their brothers and sisters

for far less than thirty pieces of silver.

 

The motivating factor for most of these government corporations is

the same as it is for private corporations: money. Money drives

everything they do. The workshops, seminars, how-to manuals, etc., are

all geared to making these government corporations more attractive and

appealing to the donor base. Just as Jesus said to the moneychangers

in His day, these corporate officers have turned God’s House into

"a den of thieves."

 

Why is it that today’s pastors and Christians are so clueless to

what is happening in front of their eyes? They say they are

"preaching the Gospel." But they aren’t. What they are doing is

pulling the wool over people’s eyes by refusing to sound the alarm!

Why is it that as soon as the final "Amen" is spoken at the end of

a "worship service," the first thing out of the mouths of most of

the men in attendance is something about sports? Why is it that so

many "Christian" women spend dozens of hours each week searching

the Internet in pursuit of whatever sordid information is floating

around out there about their "friends" and fellow church members?

 

It seems that today’s Christians are so ignorant of true Biblical

friendship, fellowship, and brotherhood that they don’t know what to

do with it even when they find it! Christian betrayal is epidemic!

A genuine New Testament church follows Jesus’ instruction to love

one another. A New Testament church yearns for genuine Christian

fellowship and brotherhood. A New Testament church prefers one another

and honors one another. A New Testament church desires truth--even

when it’s painful. And yes, a New Testament church is willing to die

for one another!

 

I have spoken with Russian Christians who endured the "purging"

under Joe Stalin. They told me about KGB agents bursting into a church

service with fully automatic weapons demanding to know who the pastor

was. They told me how when this happened, every man in the

congregation raised his hand. They told me about how when government

agents took men at gun point from the congregation, elderly ladies

were laying in front of the government vehicles. Can one imagine this

scene taking place in today’s churches?

 

I can see it now: government agents demand to know who the pastor is,

and every man in the congregation points AT THE PASTOR! Government

agents haul men out of the church and the old women applaud and get

patriotic goose bumps as they are taken away.

 

All across the Christian spectrum, people are beholden to the state.

Welfare checks, government pension checks, corporate welfare checks,

food stamps, medical benefits, etc., etc., ad infinitum. "My God

shall supply all your needs"? Who needs that promise? We have the

state to take care of us! "Sufficient unto the day is the evil

thereof"? Irrelevant! We don’t even know how to recognize evil

when we see it. "Give us this day our daily bread"? Antiquated

rubbish easily explained away by our brilliant corporate officers in

the pulpit. "Blessed are the peacemakers"? Forget it!

"Conservative," evangelical Christians and preachers today are the

biggest cheerleaders, proponents, and apologists for spreading war,

mayhem, and death all over the world!

 

I would dare say that most of today’s churches and pastors have

never given a second thought to what the "church" is. The church

is not a building. The church is not programs and musicals, and

socials and recreational theme parks. The church is not restaurants

and bookstores. The word "church" means "called out assembly."

Called out from what? Called out from state governance and control;

called out from worldly philosophies and principles; called out from

bondage and tyranny. That’s what!

 

Need I remind my brothers and sisters that the first reference,

chronologically, to the "church" is found in Acts 7:38 where

Stephen gave tribute to "the church in the wilderness"? Why was

the church in the wilderness? God had called it out of Egyptian

bondage. Hence, the word "church," meaning "a called out

assembly."

 

So, where is the called out assembly today? It has left nothing! The

assembly gathers together under the auspices of, and in the name of,

the state. It grovels before the state. It gears its messages to the

pleasure of the state. It keeps its congregants in the dark to the

illegalities, improprieties, and criminalities of the state. It seeks

the state’s approval and approbation. And when called upon by the

state, it will betray or sell out any preacher, prophet, or Christian

brother or sister.

 

You who say you love God, you who say you know what’s going on and

are concerned about your children’s future, you who say you desire

truth, how can you continue to support these 501c3 government

corporations with your attendance and with your tithes and offerings?

You are called to "come out." So, why don’t you? These

government corporations are in bed with Babylon. And Babylon is not

our friend. It is enslaving saints all over the world. It is

persecuting the Bride. It is making war with God’s children. It is

drunk with the blood of pilgrims and patriots! How dare you sleep in

the same bed with her?

 

How did the Holy Spirit conclude the Book of Revelation? By

commanding us, "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers

of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Rev. 18:4)

This unholy alliance between the Lord’s Church and Caesar, between

the Body of Christ and Beelzebub, between the fellowship of God and

the fellowship of Satan is plaguing our nation, our families, and our

future. "Come out of her, my people."

The Truth About Abortion

Today marks the 37th anniversary of the infamous US Supreme Court Roe v.
Wade decision, which, in effect, legalized abortion-on-demand nationwide. The aftermath of this tragic ruling is the deaths of over 40 million (a very conservative number) innocent unborn babies. It is no hyperbole to say abortion is America's holocaust. Think of it, every American citizen today, 37 years old or younger, has never known a country that respected and protected innocent human life in the womb. Put it another way: when Hitler's Third Reich was at its zenith, the abortion rate was 40%. In 2003 (the last year that I checked), the abortion rate of the county in which I live was 39%. And I live in the heart of the so-called "Bible Belt." In fact, statistically speaking, the most dangerous place to be in America is not in an automobile without wearing a seat belt, or in a commercial airliner with
a potential terrorist on board. Statistically speaking, the most dangerous place to be is in the womb of one's mother.

Dr. Bernard Nathanson once headed America's largest abortion clinic in New York City. He admitted superintending over the killing of 75,000 unborn babies. He later recanted his pro-abortion activity and wrote what may be the quintessential book defending an unborn child's right to life, "Aborting America." Dr. Nathanson said, "There is no longer serious doubt in my mind that human life exists within the womb from the very onset of pregnancy."

Dr. Mildred Jefferson was a surgeon at Boston University Medical Center, a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with many honors and awards. She said, "Many people try to hide behind the confusion of not knowing what happens before a baby is born. But we do not have to be confused. We in medicine and science have a different name for every stage of the development of the baby, but it does not matter at all whether you know those names or not. When a young woman has not had much opportunity to go to school and she becomes pregnant, no one has to tell her that she is going to have a baby.

"I became a doctor in the tradition that is represented in the Bible of
looking upon medicine as a high calling. I will not stand aside and have
this great profession of mine, of the doctor, give up the designation of
healer to become that of the social executioner. The Supreme Court Justices only had to hand down an order. Social workers only have to make arrangements, but it has been given to my profession to destroy the life of the innocent and the helpless.

"Today it is the unborn child; tomorrow it is likely to be the elderly or those who are incurably ill. Who knows but that a little later it may be anyone who has political or moral views that do not fit into the distorted new order. To that question, 'Am I my brother's keeper?' I answer 'Yes.' It is everyone's responsibility to safeguard and preserve life. A child is a member of the human family and deserves care and concern."

How many physicians, scientists, teachers, pastors, missionaries, statesmen, musicians, businessmen, and notable contributors to society have been murdered in the womb?

At this point, I can hear someone interrupting, "What about cases involving rape or incest?"

While these cases number less than 1% of pregnancies, consider this case
history: a 12-year-old girl was raped and became pregnant. "Get an
abortion," you say? Congratulations. You just killed Ethel Waters.

And as Dr. Jefferson said, just where does the acceptance of abortion lead? If we listen to the former governor of Colorado, Richard Lamm, elderly people who are terminally ill have a "duty to die and get out of the way." (Source: New York Times)

And does anyone remember Baby Doe in Bloomington, Indiana?

A little baby was born April 9, 1982, with Down's Syndrome in a Bloomington, Indiana, hospital. The parents refused to allow a doctor to correct a defect in the esophagus that prevented eating because the child was born with Down's. The Indiana Supreme Court upheld the parents' right to make this decision. Despite many couples on hand willing to adopt the child, adoption offers that came in from all over America, and an appeal pursued to the U.S. Supreme Court, Baby Doe died of starvation on April 15, 1982.

Add to this blatant disrespect for human life the potential for mandated
government-run national health care--complete with cost-related
rationing--and one can only imagine how the value of human life will
continue to decline in these United States. Plus, if you want to do some
personal research that will really send chills up your spine, start
investigating the fact that many scientists and researchers are seriously discussing genetic manipulation and genetic engineering. Good grief! Our own government and military are already culpable in grotesque medical experimentation with both civilian and military personnel.

Our own Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has admitted to using military
personnel as human guinea pigs for medical, biological, and mental
experimentation under various programs associated with the now-infamous
title, MK-ULTRA. CIA officials say the programs have all been scrapped.
Don't you believe it.

In addition, consider the testimony of Dr. Carolyn Gerster, a physician
specializing in internal medicine and cardiopulmonary diseases. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Oregon Medical School in Portland. She spent two years as a medical officer in the US Army.

Dr. Gerster told Phyllis Schlafly's Eagle Forum, "I was asked to become a member of the American College of Physicians many years ago. It's any honorary society of internal medicine. I was very proud right up until the day that the society gave the James D. Bruce Award for Medical Research to Dr. Saul Krugman for the following experiment. Dr. Krugman had taken living hepatitis virus MS2 and injected this living virus into 25 retarded children in Willowbrook Home for Retarded in upstate New York. This was defended on the basis that they would probably get the hepatitis virus anyway."

Consider, too, that, contrary to what most people assume, the vast majority of physicians graduating from medical school today no longer take a Hippocratic-type oath--an oath that binds physicians to the following: "I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone. I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan; and similarly I will not give a woman a pessary [medical device] to cause an abortion."

As Schaeffer and Koop pointed out in their book, "Whatever Happened to the Human Race?" "The Declaration of Geneva (adopted in September 1948 by the General Assembly of the World Medical Organization and modeled closely on the Hippocratic Oath) became used as the graduation oath by more and more medical schools. It includes: 'I will maintain the utmost respect for human life from the time of conception.' This concept of the preservation of human life has been the basis of the medical profession and society in general. It is significant that when the University of Pittsburgh changed from the Hippocratic Oath to the Declaration of Geneva in 1971, the students deleted 'from the time of conception' from the claus ."

Today, the ageless principles that had guided the medical profession
throughout Western Civilization have been expunged from a majority of our physicians' training and practice. And the Roe Supreme Court decision had much to do with this.

What is especially irritating about the whole abortion debate is the way the subject has been used as a political football by those on both the right and the left of the political aisle. While the national Democratic Party proudly touts itself as being "pro-choice," (meaning, pro-murdering unborn babies), it has been the so-called "pro-life" Republican Party that is mostly to blame for legalized abortion being left as the law of the land for nearly 4 decades.

Think of it: the GOP has dominated US Supreme Court appointments for the 37 years since the Roe decision. In fact, the 1973 court that released the Roe decision was a Republican-appointed court by a 6-3 margin. The same GOP-dominated court also rendered the Doe v. Bolton Supreme Court decision reaffirming Roe.

Consider still: the "pro-life" Republican Party controlled the entire
federal government from the election of 2000 to the election of 2006: six long years of GOP domination of both houses of Congress, the White House, and the US Supreme Court. And in all that time not one single unborn baby's life was saved. NOT ONE!

And, yet, each year, Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) would introduce the
Sanctity of Life bill. And each year, the bill would sit in the document
room of the Capitol Building and gather dust. What would Rep. Paul's bill do? Two things: (1) It would define unborn babies as persons under the law. (2) Under the authority of Article. III. Section. 2. of the US Constitution, it would remove abortion from the jurisdiction of the court. Had the "pro-life" Republican congress passed Dr. Paul's bill, and the "pro-life" President, G. W. Bush, signed it into law, Roe v. Wade would have been effectively overturned.

So, why didn't President Bush trumpet the bill? Where was the Republican
leader in the Senate? Where was the Republican Speaker of the House? Where was Orrin Hatch? Where was John McCain? Where was Lindsey Graham? Where was Glenn Beck? Where was Rush Limbaugh? Where was Newt Gingrich? Where was Sean Hannity? Where was the National Right to Life Committee? Where were the tens of thousands of "pro-life" pastors and Christians?

And, yet, these same "pro-life" pastors, church members, and "conservatives" refused to support Congressman Paul for President in 2008, because he was not "conservative" enough. Actually, they opposed him because he opposed the war in Iraq, which means they would rather support a politician who promotes taking America into unconstitutional wars--but who will do nothing to overturn Roe and save the lives of unborn babies--than support a man who demands that the Constitution be followed, and actually had a constitutional plan to overturn Roe and end abortion-on-demand as a national "right." No wonder Jesus noted that unbelievers often have it over believers in the brains department. (See Luke 16:8.)

I remind you that preserving life and liberty is the primary purpose of
government (read the Declaration of Independence, for example). At this
point, however, I think it is safe to conclude that to pretend there is any hope that Washington politicians (from either party) will do anything to overturn Roe is pure fantasy. At this point, it is up to State legislatures and governors to preserve life in their respective states. Several states are already beginning to do just that.

According to Fox News a few years back, 30 states were poised to pass laws outlawing abortion if and when the US Supreme Court ever reversed its Roe v. Wade decision. What they need to do is stop waiting for the US Supreme Court to reverse itself, and go ahead and stand on their own State authority and autonomy, and outlaw abortion in their states now, as legislators in South Dakota, Georgia, Michigan, Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia are already attempting to do.

Legalized abortion is a national holocaust; an affront to our national
character; a contradiction of established principles subscribed to from the beginning of Western Civilization; an insult to the principles of our Declaration of Independence; a bane of our national spirit; and a stench in the nostrils of Almighty God. That we have allowed it to continue for 37 years now stands as an indictment against this generation of Americans and bodes ominously for the well-being of our posterity.
