GLAD I DIDN'T MAKE IT

George Offerman

We just returned from a two week trip from my homeland in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan after visiting family and friends that was most interesting and informative.  I hadn’t been to the UP in wintertime since my father’s funeral almost 21 years ago, and forgot how cold and snowy it gets up there.  Besides celebrating on one of the greatest non-events December 21st, I had an opportunity to get together with one of my old seminary classmates who happens to be a priest there.  It was in the midst of the conversation with him that I realized I would never had made it as a priest in the UP, or really anywhere in the American church due to the way I hold the church teachings and what I stand for.
This priest (who shall go nameless) looked worn out and frustrated, and it became clear as we talked that the problem of mediocrity is a church wide epidemic.  This priest had mentioned how the people up there had no interest in real church teachings, and even when laid out clearly (and this priest is very articulate) there was great resistance and complaints levied against him for doing this.  It also seems that his Bishop, like many around the country, respond to any form of criticism unfavorably for the priest,  and this serves to undermine both the credibility of the priest as well as the church in general.  So, many of the homilies given by this priest are rather on the unchallenging side and getting into the hard hitting issues is considered taboo.
It brought me back to my seminary days over a quarter of a century ago, when I spoke up against the homosexuals and how our church was being sold out.  I ignored the advice of fellow seminarians as well as some of the faculty when told to keep my thoughts and beliefs to myself.  It also brings home the point of Biblical truths that hidden sins would be ‘shouted from the roof tops’ and no amount of staying quiet would change that fact.  Yes, I was asked to get counseling for my ‘homophobia’ by the faculty as a condition of returning, but I knew my time was up when I left in the spring of 1986.  But I had also sensed at that time that telling the truth was going to result (most likely) in my not making it to ordination.  So I saw no point in continuing on, as I knew then I would not compromise on church teachings and sell the people out due to ‘feelings’ and horrible theology.
Many who made it into the priesthood knowingly sold out their belief systems in order to get ordained.  One of the main lines of thinking back then was “Tell them what they want to hear, and then after getting ordained, do what you want”.  I have only found that those who compromised their value systems in order to get ordained are still compromising their value systems today.  Now, some of the men I know did not compromise their values, but did stay quiet then and now seem to this day to be suffering in silence.  My fears for myself always had been if I could justify ‘playing the game’ to get ordained, how could I then come out of my shell and stand for the truth?  I didn’t see a way out, other than leaving the seminary and following what I believed outside of ordained ministry.  It turns out it was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life.
I’ve been blessed with a good family, children and a good career.  I am able to live the faith unencumbered by public criticism and can be as involved to whatever level in the pro-life movement and participate in civil disobedience.  I can write the truth and not have to worry about being censured, ‘suspended’ or sent to a monastery to’ rethink and contemplate my life’ by a bishop that doesn’t have the integrity or grit to stand up for the church or to the whiners and wimps who seem to be calling the shots.  And I don’t have to be beholden to the godless IRS and cursed 501 c 3 status and can call out by name those who are advocating evil and trying to destroy everything that is good and holy in our society.
I believe I am doing exactly as God called me to do, and that is to minister to my fellow man to the best of my ability and in the truth.  I am doing way more in a lay status than what I ever could have accomplished in the church as it currently is.  I am way freer than my former classmates, who as priests, are beholden to men and parishioners that believe they have a better theological background than the priests do.  And I am free to teach the faith, unencumbered by man-made shackles, and can debate with anyone at any level without worrying about losing my livelihood.  I never thought I could be a better priest outside of the priesthood, but it seems like it’s the case.  What a sad commentary.  Glad I didn’t make it.

HERE WE GO

George Offerman

I find it totally incredulous that the American people were dumb enough to reelect Osama Bin Laden Obama Barry Sotero.  I am also dismayed over how the American Bishops and the useless USCCB did virtually nothing to inform the Catholic population about the duty to vote pro-life as well as anti-homosexual marriage.  This president will now finish the hatchet job on faith based anything, given he is now a lame duck and no longer needs to worry about polls or anything resembling any type of accountability.  I guess taking away rights and running huge deficits means little to the ‘47%’.
We did not have much of a choice between the sitting criminal in chief and Romney, but at least concerning religious freedoms, Romney at least verbalized a desire to stop the ongoing assault on religious freedoms.  So we can expect to see more persecution of Christians and Christianity by the Muslim in office and I am getting a very sinking feeling that we have no idea what’s in store for the next four years.
For those of you who voted for the criminal in chief; you get what you deserve and you have absolutely no right to complain about anything he does, given we had so much warning about him through the prior four years.  For you church leaders; may you stay out of jail if (not when) you decide to resist the mandates of this administration to open up your services to serve the devil and his whims.  For the liberals and the rest; may you find charitable people when your ‘benefits’ run out due to lack of ‘revenue’ and the producers quit and cut off funding and you find yourselves hungry, naked and homeless.  The criminal in chief will not come to your rescue, nor does he really care about your welfare.
We’ve now commenced this ride and it will take us to places we don’t want to go and it will require us to see things we don’t want to see.  America has decided to take the bullet to the head and it is a lethal choice.  Those who understand and can see where this is going will now enter the action phase and do what they need to do for themselves and their families.  Time is not yet out for action, but yesterday’s election just sped up the clock.  If the devil is who America wants to hang out with, then America has knowingly gotten onto the road to hell.  Don’t complain about the ride.

BISHOPS: EITHER WAKE THE HELL UP OR WAKE UP IN HELL

George Offerman

One may be really taken aback by the title of this piece and I want to
be clear that I mean this more figuratively.  That being said, the
scandal of having fallen away she devil Kathleen Sebelius speak at
Georgetown cannot go unchallenged and the dereliction of duty by what
ought to be the supreme shepherds of our Church cannot go ignored.
There are too many who have been in this fight and have sacrificed
greatly, to only have it given away by those who no longer seem to
have a spinal column and only seem to see as far as their own comfort
and convenience.  Yes, I am referring to the Bishops, the USCCB and
Cardinal Wuerl in particular.

It seems as the moment of truth comes closer, the Church, lead by its
‘leadership’, the rudderless bishops are leading us to at least the
netherworld, if not directly to hell itself.  How can it be that such
a blatant violation of core church teachings can be totally ignored,
and yet these prelates attempt to peddle mediocrity and inaction as
courageous action?  And how is it that the pro life movement and many
in the church pews buy into this load of malarkey?   It is truly an
embarrassment that the bishops stay silent when the architect and
defender of this horrible legislation is invited onto a ‘Catholic’
Campus and given a platform that ought to be at the end of a plank
instead.

I cannot help but wonder if the USCCB really believe they will be able
to rally the faithful on this issue when they continually sell the
faithful down the river by their inaction.  I know there were some of
the faithful out at the gates of Georgetown last Friday protesting
this atrocity, but I’m willing to bet that there was not one prelate
with them.  This is one of those instances in which the leadership of
the Church shot themselves in the foot and sold the laity down the
river.  That is why I for one, did not participate in this event.
There is no way I will risk arrest or anything else when the Bishops
did nothing and could have made a large impact by acting on what they
know to be true and stopping this atrocity before it began.

It is becoming more apparent by the day that the Bishops are more
motivated by convenience and comfort versus being out front and boldly
declaring the truth as the great prophets and disciples of days gone
by did.  It is this inaction that will directly lead to religious
persecution occurring, and it is occurring now, and will only
intensify in the very near future.  The bishops couldn’t be more
blinded than they are now, and the only qualified and tough stances
they take are against the principled priests who uphold church
teachings, and the Christian warriors from the pews that take their
faith seriously.

If I were a bishop, and found my self agreeing with this ungodly,
murderous and persucatorial administration, I would be fearful for my
eternal soul.  Any first grade student with the basic catechism would
understand the evil that the Obama administration is perpetrating onto
the Catholic Church, and would understand the need to defend the
Church to whatever degree is necessary to hold onto her integrity.
But it isn’t happening with the current crop of Bishops, as they
continue to walk the same line as that of an evil and murderous
administration.   Welcome to hell.

THE CHURCH (ESPECIALLY THE BISHOPS) DOESN'T KNOW THEIR ENEMY

George Offerman

Bishops Loverde of Arlington and DiLorenzo of Richmond put out a joint letter that was read from every pulpit at every mass in Virginia this past weekend decrying the Obama administration’s ‘mandating’ that all faith based organizations cover sterilization, birth control and abortifacients regardless of conscience and moral belief systems.  In this letter, both bishops spell out the problem, and somewhat address the underlying issue, but the action steps suggested in the letter seemed to be vague and weak, and seemed to encourage the laity to do the bulk of the work, as it left out what the bishops themselves were going to do about this.

The more time that goes by without precise and decisive action by the bishops only plays to Obama’s favor.  Since the bishops seemed to have had ‘no moral objections’ to the initial healthcare passed two years ago, and seemed to have had ‘no moral objections’ to the secular insurance companies being forced to provide sterilization, birth control, abortifacients and funding legalized child killing, Obama most likely presumed that the Church didn’t really mean what they claimed to believe, by seeing all of the above ‘services’ as intrinsically evil, due to the complicit support given by the bishops silence on the matter.  The bishops cut a ‘deal with the devil’ and looked aside when given the assurance from a man who has a crystal clear record of lying to get what he wants of giving them an ‘exemption’ based upon faith and conscience.

There were many of us that openly warned the hierarchy, and specifically Bishop Loverde and Archbishop Wuerl about the evil nature of Obama and how he would break his word to the Church.  We asked and pleaded with these two Bishops to do something about the wayward ‘Catholic’ politicians who continually mocked and openly rebelled against established Church teachings on matters of legalized child killing and homosexual marriage, and were derided, and some of us arrested on orders by these prelates themselves because of our strong stance and subsequent actions.  For those who were paying any kind of attention, this move by Obama came as no surprise, and we are not ‘shocked’ over this turn of events.  This was in full view four years ago when this man came onto the scene, and openly discussed keeping the ‘rule of law’ of abortion, taking over health care, and expanding healthcare services to include ‘reproductive rights’.  That the Church believed Obama would not target them is irresponsible and nearly delusional thinking.

As has been proven by the ‘cave in’ by the Susan G. Komen fund, these people do not believe in ‘incrementalism’.  The enemies of life mercilessly went after this organization with all guns firing, and WITHIN TWO DAYS, the Komen fund did a 180 and reversed their position in totality.  The enemies of life focused on TOTAL VICTORY, they used every weapon they have, AND THEY WON.  No equivocation, no apologies, no taking prisoners and no placating the enemy.  Whether we like it or not, believe it or not or saw it or not, these people in two days handed us our rear ends, and this is the way it’s been for decades now.  What we call tolerance is seen as weakness by these people, and they play for blood.  Until we get that, we are going to get creamed every time.

The bishops need to understand the nature of the fight they are in.  And the first step is to admit they have been ‘played’ by Obama and his ilk, and have by their complacent attitudes, allowed for unchecked murder of the unborn and use of birth control to go on unchecked as long as it did not violate the “Not In My Back Yard’ (NIMBY) syndrome. Because the Bishops showed little to no faith in the core church teachings, Obama gave them, and to us, in effect what we deserve, and is making us do what we have turned a blind eye to for decades (sins of omission).  Yes, Obama is the man in charge who is implementing this hellish stance, but the ones who are ultimately responsible for GIVING OBAMA THE PLATFORM OF PRESIDENCY TO BEGIN WITH was derelict in duty four years ago when this man ran on a campaign promising these changes, and the Bishops stayed silent, and put out a very confusing voting guide that basically permitted 54% of Catholics to vote for this man in supposed ‘good consciousness’.

The ultimate enemy is not Obama.  The ultimate enemy is not the Bishops either.  The real and ultimate enemy is FEAR.  Fear of offending others, fear of fickle Catholics leaving the pews if the Word of God is actually preached, fear of the loss of money if the church ‘teaches too zealously’, fear of losing ‘status’, fear of taking the message to the streets and to the enemy, fear of persecution, fear of being disliked, fear of losing the coveted 501 c 3 status, and ultimately the fear of possibly having to stand alone in faith.  John the Baptist lead by example and lead with great authority.  John the Baptist had the Spirit of God in him, and as such could not fail.  Our Church has the same promise given by God.  We simply need to believe it’s true, and then act on it.

I had a mentor back about twenty years ago challenge me on my fears, and what he told me is something I will never forget.  His response to me when I made an excuse as to why I did not act on what I knew to be right due to fear was: “George, I hear you are afraid to act, but think about this.  You can be afraid and do nothing, or you can be afraid and do something.  Now that we established you will be afraid no matter what, the real question is, will you do something or not?”  Courage is not waiting until one is no longer fearful, courage is when one does what is right, despite the fear.  Courage is the answer to the greatest enemy we have, and courage is what we must strive and pray for in this very real and bloody war.

WHAT WOULD JOHN THE BAPTIST DO?

George Offerman

“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for Baptism, he said to them “You brood of vipers!  Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bear fruit that befits repentance, and do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father’; for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham.  Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire”

Matt 3:7-10

Can. 915 Those upon whom the penalty of excommunication or interdict has been imposed or declared, and others who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin, are not to be admitted to holy communion.

Code of Cannon Law, Cannon 915.

CNSNews.com continued: “‘We cannot--we will not—comply with this law.’ Catholic bishops are saying they will not comply with this law. Will you stand with your fellow Catholics in resisting this law or will you stick by the administration?”

Pelosi: “First of all, I am going to stick with my fellow Catholics in supporting the administration on this. I think it was a very courageous decision that they made, and I support it.”

Excommunication.  She said it herself, and by their own words, Nancy Pelosi and Kathleen Sebelius excommunicated themselves, and as such, are in grave sin and have disqualified themselves from participating in receiving Holy Communion.  It’s not even an issue of the Bishops doing their jobs on this one; it’s simply a matter of complying with the wishes of both fallen away Catholics Pelosi and Sebelius.  Now if the bishops only have the intestinal fortitude of one of the greatest Prophets who ever walked the earth, this charade would end before it begins.

John the Baptist was described by Jesus himself as being the ‘greatest man ever born’ of a woman, and it was this last Old Testament prophet who ushered in the messianic age with great authority.  John garnered a large number of followers and preached with such authority that even the Jewish religious leaders inquired as to whether John was the prophesied Messiah.  John’s preaching was pure truth, and cut like the sword of truth does; straight and true.  There was no equivocation, no apologies, no taking prisoners and NO PLACATING THE ENEMY anywhere or in any place in either word or deed.  John went directly to the palace (White House) and condemned the King’s (president’s) behavior and called on the king (president) to repent.  John continued until he was imprisoned and executed by the king, due to the king’s insistence that he live his life in the ways as he saw fit (Obama, Pelosi, and Sebelius).

The Bishops know this in the depths of their hearts and the Bishops are crystal clear on what they need to do in this matter.  So are the faithful who truly hold the Bible as the inerrant Word of God.  And the faithful are watching the Bishops VERY CAREFULLY.  If the Bishops do not carry through on their MANDATE TO PREACH AND PROTECT THE GOSPEL AND UNVARNISHED TRUTH, THEY HAVE SET THIS COUNTRY ON THE PATH TO HELL.  There is no other way to put this, and no other outcome will suffice.  If the Bishops choose to placate the enemy and sell the Church down the road, they will bring judgment upon themselves and will themselves experience personal persecution to levels they cannot even begin to imagine.

John the Baptist WOULDN’T BE CAUGHT DEAD giving the invocation at the democratic convention.  Quite to the contrary, John the Baptist would be outside the convention center preaching repentance and giving the real and harsh consequences of policies that murder the most innocent of society.  John the Baptist also would not wait until the ‘last two weeks before the election’ to preach his message.  No, John the Baptist would PHYSICALLY BE PRESENT at the seat of power and would engage the lead perpetrator (Obama) face to face.  No equivocation, no apologies, no taking prisoners and no placating the enemy.

The Bishops must be willing to imitate John the Baptist.  And I will give the Bishops my word as a Catholic, that I will be willing to stand with them in any situation, anywhere in this country and would be willing to be arrested WITH THEM, if they stand against this rogue government, but I want to be clear I WILL NOT STAND IN THEIR STEAD.  I am willing to risk all I have to defend this line, but the Bishops have to be willing to go to jail with me as a witness against this evil regime.  I know of multitudes of people who think and feel as I do, but they must speak for themselves on this matter.

This is the line in the sand.   This is war, declared by the rogue Obama regime and implemented by fallen away 'Catholics' who appear to be proud to be "sticking it to the man" (hierarchy).  This is the future of our church.  Since the Bishops have not stood up for the church in the last forty years, they are not well versed in what civil disobedience looks like.  Either way, they will learn this lesson soon, and will learn it well.

THIS IS WHAT OFFENSE LOOKS LIKE

George Offerman

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure.

Thomas Jefferson

It’s sometimes wondrous how ironic life situations can be, and here we are with what appears on the surface two very unrelated stories, but they are actually tied in very close with each other.  The first story revolves around how scared the DNC and the political establishment are of Randall Terry’s ads depicting dead babies threatening to ‘invade’ the American households proper on Super Bowl Sunday.  The second story is that of the Catholic Church being ‘mandated’ by the Obama administration to provide birth control, abortofacients and ‘reproductive rights’ care to employees, and the Churches ‘shock’ at this move.

As has been covered by the supposed ‘horrible and evil” MSM and a few responsible pro life bloggers and press, The DNC is using threats and coercion in stopping the LEGAL RIGHTS of Randall Terry, an acknowledged and certified Democratic Presidential Candidate from showing unedited graphic ads of dead babies on television.  Because of the way the Federal law is written, these ads cannot be legally denied or turned away, yet the DNC and Democratic Party is doing what it normally does when it does not get its way: use threatening behaviors and if need be, break the law.

It’s a hoot to see what these people are doing and what they are saying.  As mentioned in a previous post, one general manager of a television station actually stated “Regardless of what one believes about abortion, no one wants to EXPOSE THEIR FAMILY TO DISMEMBERED BODY PARTS during the Super Bowl”.  Dismembered body parts!  I thought it was a CHOICE!  Interestingly, when the pro deathers are on the offensive, the word ‘choice’ is everywhere, and the words dismembered body parts and child are nowhere.  However, now that the pro deathers are playing defense, they are actually forced to admit to what the average dunderhead would have figured out on his own when seeing these commercials: bloody, dismembered body parts of a small human being.

This is what offense looks like.  It’s when those who need to see the truth actually are forced to use the language of the truth against their will and against everything they claim to believe in.  This is the exact reaction these unedited graphic commercials are supposed to cause.    When one plans action with intended consequences and the outcomes match the plans, it is called being on the offensive, or taking the war to the enemy.  These ads are doing this in spades, and the fruits are undeniable (except for the mediocre pro life groups disavowing and trashing the efforts).

Then we have the REACTION (defense) of the Catholic Church of the (shocking!) ‘betrayal’ by the Obama administration pertaining to the mandatory funding of contraception, abortofacients and ‘reproductive rights’.  (However, I guess it was permissible as long as it ‘exempted’ the Church and other ‘religious’ organizations due to the Church’s inaction prior to this ‘shocking’ announcement).  Because the Church has been on the defensive for the past forty years, they did not have the battle hardness or insight into seeing that making nice with the enemy ultimately emboldens the enemy.

Then we have reactions such as Pat Buchanan, a Catholic who writes for World Net Daily, amongst other publications.  Mr. Buchannan, like many other Catholics, writes with conviction pertaining to the problems, but like most of the writers, commentators and clergy, did not have the insight to see this coming, and as a result does not advocate for a strong and proper response to this matter.  Here is Mr. Buchanan’s take on this issue:  (for the full post, click link below)

Why did Obama do it?

Facing a close race for a second term, Obama chose not to antagonize his left. Yet he must have known that siding with them meant leaving Archbishop Dolan with egg all over his face. Obama, calculatedly, came down on the side of those he believes to be more crucial to his re-election.

This affront should tell the Catholic hierarchy, if they did not already know, where they stand in the party of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Kathleen Sebilius. And where they sit – in the back of the bus.

Yet if the bishops will look upon this crisis of conscience, this insult, as an opportunity, they can effect its reversal and recapture a measure of the moral authority they have lately lost.

Not only should the bishops file suit in federal court against the president and Sebelius for violation of the constitutional principle of separation of church and state, they should inform the White House that no bishop will give an invocation at the Democratic Convention.

Then, they should inform the White House that in the last two weeks of the 2012 campaign, priests in every parish will read from the pulpit at Sunday mass a letter denouncing Obama as anti-Catholic for denying the Church its right to live according to its beliefs.

If Obama loses the Catholic vote, he loses the election.

The White House will come around, fast. Rely upon it.

I am not sure where Mr. Buchanan is coming from, but if he, and any of the leaders contemplate what Obama just did, they would realize that this is a BRAZEN ACT OF WAR DECLARED AGAINST THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.  Nice time is over, and the response by the hierarchy needs to be in direct proportion to the evil enacted against the Church.  With all due respect to you, Mr. Buchanan, you would recommend the Bishops ‘Threaten’ to not give the invocation at the Democratic Convention?  Wow!  That will scare them into submission!  Have every priest give homilies the last two weeks before the election ‘denouncing’ Obama as ‘Anti-Catholic for denying the church its right to live according to its beliefs?  I’m sure the evil pro deathers lead by Obama will be shaking in their boots over that one.  (Just like Obama’s getting an ‘honorary degree’ from our Lady’s University).  If we follow the direction and advice given by Pat Buchanan, we WILL GET RUN OVER AND BE FODDER FOR THE CATTLE TO EAT.

No, what needs to happen is the USCCB IMMEDIATELY EXCOMMUNICATE ALL 'CATHOLIC' HOLDERS OF CABINET POSITIONS, SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN WHO HAVE SUPPORTED IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM HEALTH CARE AND ANTI LIFE LEGISLATION CONTRARY TO CATHOLIC TEACHINGS.  Then, inform the Obama administration that the church will be preaching against his war against the Church EVERY SUNDAY and will continue until either Obama: 1) renounce his war against the Church and the unborn, or 2) resign the presidency.

Obama is not the messiah or a messiah, and we do not bow down to him, nor need his permission to live moral and upright lives.  We do not need his counsel, suggestions, laws or permission to do this.  We don’t need to obey immoral laws, and we will openly resist any efforts by a rogue government and wayward individual who ‘dictates’ terms of how free men and free women are to live their lives.  Until the Church is ready to make a stand like this, it will bow down and be subjected to abuse and humiliation from an egotistical and evil dictator who believes he has ‘divine’ rights to tell God’s institution how they will behave.

As Thomas Jefferson once quipped, maybe it’s time that the tree of liberty be watered again, and maybe it’s time to tell this rogue government where to go: to hell, where it came from and where it belongs. To the U. S. Bishops: the laity will follow if you simply lead.

PROPHETIC TIMES

George Offerman

It is amazing that despite the very difficult times we live in, how many people know so little about prophecy.  It seems there are many reasons for that, but ultimately, it seems to boil down to one issue: believability.  When the USCCB can come out and take an official position that the ‘creation-flood story’ did not actually happen as written, it naturally undermines what is written about the future(Revelation) and sews doubts about what will actually occur.  (Don’t worry, Revelation also covers that theme as well).

When one doesn’t believe, they don’t prepare.  Preparation has many steps, but for the sake of brevity here, we will consider the main steps which are: 1) learning, information gathering and knowledge, and 2) planning and action.  At the base for any preparation is believability.  If one doesn’t believe in whatever is being presented, there is absolutely no incentive to investigate further and there will be no action taken on any of the material being presented.  For instance, MOST of the people I talk to about the coming economic collapse think I’m a lunatic.  Hence, they will not read any of my writings, the web sites I recommend, and are surely not buying silver, or preparing for any trouble by at least getting some extra food and water.

When people don’t take the time to gather information or to learn about a subject, they are left to their own devices, or dependent upon other people to do the work for them.  In the arena of prophecy, there are many who are charlatans and spreading errors in order to make big $$$$ off of the fear they generate.  Others mean well, but grossly misinterpret prophecy in scripture to fit the headlines found in the godless MSM.  Still, others take many facets of Revelation out of their revealed order and attempt to ‘predict’ what these happenings are, such as the mark of the beast.  Then, when these events do not come to pass, many are turned off to Revelation, and begin to wander away from the faith and fall into the trap that these matters will never happen, and there is then no need to work on personal sanctification.

I have repeatedly told people that do want to know these matters that ANYONE who willfully wants to see Revelation occur in their lifetime has got to be out of their ever loving mind.  I tell them I cannot stomach the times we live in and want to see positive change in this country, and see once again, communities that are safe for all people, a love for fellow man, respect for property, honest dealings in business, and the Church representing God as He really is.  This can happen without the end of the world occurring, but it will take very extraordinary events to wake up the common man to make it happen.  That is what I’m hoping to see.  However, I do believe (very unfortunately) we very well may be on the doorstep of Revelation’s fulfillment.

I tell many of these people, who mistakenly believe we are in Revelation now, that the opening salvo will leave no doubt about it.  If we really were in Revelation now, it would validate everything our society and weak Church is presenting about God, and that is as an incompetent, disinterested and weak ‘supreme’ being.  If those reading now are familiar with my previous postings on the first four trumpets, this next bit will be a repeat for you.  Revelation opens with a massive earthquake with a duration and intensity never experienced by mankind EVER.  Then within the next several days to a few weeks, there will be a massive meteor shower that will burn up all grass and one third of green plants.  This will then be followed by two massive asteroid strikes, one in the ocean and one land strike.  This will then lead to darkness that will take out a third of the daylight. Literally, all activity on earth will stop dead in its tracks, and ALL of the survivors will be asking WHY God is so angry and WHAT do we need to do to get Him to stop these judgments.

The first four trumpets will take out 25% of the population in a matter of days.  There will be no doubt about these actions, and there will be no mistaking (anymore) that Revelation has commenced, and the emergence of the 144,000 with Elijah like powers will be here to explain/warn everyone what is happening, why it happened, and what is about to happen. (And, by the way, they won’t be taking any of anyone’s useless money)  Survival will be the number one task on everyone’s mind, and the dark powers will respond rapidly and with great authority.  The Church, due to its lack of faith in God and who He really is, will fail miserably in preparing people for this event, and unfortunately, will join with the beast, which is Babylon, and will become its ‘whore’.  It will join forces and create the one world religiously lead government that will be the most ferocious man made creation ever seen on this rock.

This government, lead by the now ‘whore’ church, will set and enforce laws contrary to the Living God, and require all inhabitants to worship it (obedience).  The 144,000 will be preaching against following this beast, and with their supernatural abilities, will be able to combat this human power. Battle lines will be drawn, and the believers will be put to the test by the Living God to validate their choice.  This test most likely will be a short time jail/prison sentence with a possibility of a death sentence. (The major death sentences come much later).  Many will fall prey to the whore, because they continue to give allegiance to an organization, that prior to the start of Revelation required allegiance to its false teachings and watered down theology.  So it will be a continuation of the same lack of faith and preparation by those who follow an organization that was caught off guard by Revelation, and now wants to speak with great authority, as if they understand the Will of God.

Unfortunately, we are seeing this exact behavior with the USCCB in watering down the Word of God.  I wouldn’t trust this band for anything, and sure don’t want to know what they will think about these matters.  This band will not stand up for the babies now, they will not stand up against homosexual marriage, and they continue to give the body of our Lord to those who are public scandals.  If they cannot keep teachings straight on matters that are very visible, how can they teach and preach on matters that are invisible?  This is a precursor of what the ‘whore’ of Babylon will look like.  There is no urgency by the USCCB in any of their actions, and they are as guilty as many of the pagan/secular groups and governments that believe things will continue on as they have in the past few centuries.

It is very unfortunate that they cannot be more gravely mistaken in their lack of faith.  We are at a threshold of at least an economic event that will literally change the nature of our existence.  The lack of preparation is criminal and those who have taken it upon themselves to be ‘in charge’ of these matters will have much accounting to do before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Their lack of faith, and by extension, lack of preparation will be the cause of much suffering and death that is so avoidable.  And because of this, there is a need for ‘lunatics’ like me to get the word out.  It is what it is, and it’s time to bring it on.

...AND THEY WONDER WHY FEW TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY

George Offerman

“How should modern readers interpret the creation-flood story in Gn 2: 11? The stories are neither history nor myth. “Myth” is an unsuitable term, for it has several different meanings and connotes untruth in popular English. “History” is equally misleading, for it suggests that the events actually took place. The best term is creation-flood story.”
USCCB website, Introduction to the book of Genesis

38 For as in those days before the flood they  were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not [a]understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Matt 24:38-39

26 And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:26-27

7 By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, [a]in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
Hebrews 7:11

20 who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the [a]water.
1 Peter 3:20

5 and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a [a]preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;
2 Peter 2:5

There will be a new version of the Bible to be released with the imprimatur of the USCCB.  The above quote taken from the USCCB website on the creation and flood story, and as can be seen, the USCCB takes the position that the story of the flood is considered allegorical and not literal.  The USCCB wants to claim that the author of Genesis “borrowed” the flood story from an earlier tale spun from accounts and myths from the Mesopotamia era.  In fact, the USCCB goes on to make this following statement concerning many of the stories in Genesis:
“There is unfortunately no direct extra-biblical evidence confirming (or disproving) the stories.”
Unfortunately and sadly, the USCCB is wrong on this note, and it will be covered in a later post the significant amount of evidence by geologists and archaeologists of a flood that covered the whole world.  It is also rather sad that the USCCB calls into question the accounts in the Bible and it does nothing other than creating doubts in the believer.  For if the stories in Genesis are false, or allegorical, then what about the rest of the Bible?  How does one determine which is true and which is myth, or allegory?
What is truly at issue here is the soul of our Church.  We have a band of Bishops that are making a claim these events never happened, and none of these men were alive at the time of these events.  They are juxtaposed by the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, who was not only present at the time of the flood, He acknowledged the flood taking place, and clarified that it was Noah and his family that was in the ark.  Now, if the USCCB wants to make the claim that the Cannon of Scripture is inaccurate, or that Jesus really didn’t mean what he said concerning Noah, then they are bordering on heresy.  To try to sell to the laity their ideas that most of genesis did not happen, they then call into question how much of the Bible didn’t happen, and thus, how can it be an inspired book, and who and what determines which story is literal and which is allegorical.
I am glad the USCCB does not speak with magisterial authority.  Since they do not, we are not obligated to follow questionable teachings such as this.  Their statements fall in line with others the USCCB has either put out, such as their voting guide faithful citizenship, and their silence concerning many of the state votes on homosexual marriage.  The USCCB has been very consistent in their watering down of the faith, and hanging much of the laity and some faithful priests out to dry, theologically speaking.  It leaves one to wonder if the USCCB is in a crisis of faith, or if they simply don’t believe what the Church they are supposedly representing actually teaches.  Either way, their statements concerning Genesis is nothing short of scandalous, and will do nothing other than to sow more doubt about the faith of the True Church of Jesus Christ.
The most interesting part of the USCCB is they will attempt to sell this to the American Church with magisterial authority, and will have no tolerance for anyone disagreeing with their position.  This very weak and cowardly band that has let down those fighting against legalized child killing and homosexual marriages really has lost their moral authority to teach in a fashion that will inspire laity or faithful priests.  It is actually creating division and discord by calling into question very basic and clear tenets of the faith, and buying into social relativism that appeases those in the same camp as Nancy Pelosi, the late Teddy Kennedy, John Kerry, Sotomayor and all of the other so called Catholics who make and follow their own rules concerning these social issues, and receiving communion when they should be denied it.
This is going to accomplish nothing more than creating confusion in the ranks, and pushing many into complacency.  The USCCB would have been better off making no comments on this than what they did.  If it is true that most of the Bishops on the USCCB backs this interpretation, then maybe they ought to go on a long retreat that focuses on prayer and reflection concerning their vocation, and sit in on some basic scripture and patristic theology classes.  Or maybe just outright resign and hand out smiley stickers at Wal-Mart where they can’t do any damage.

MOST OUT THERE DON'T GET IT

George Offerman

Today we are going to look at the groups who don’t get it about the times we live in, or the opportunity we have to effect real change in the upcoming races for the House and Senate. Sure, these organizations talk a good game, but at the end of the day, they will obey their puppet masters and will take a mediocre position as to not offend the enemy, and then they will claim victory that should be credited to the tea party. Then the standard operating procedure for them will kick into high gear: they will fund raise, and obtain millions through fraud; taking credit for other’s work and then claim “We are winning this war, keep funding us”.

Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life has stated clearly “America will not reject abortion until America sees abortion”. Well, Fr. Frank and all the others who have held to this position are now getting their wish with Missy Smith. Now, Let’s see if they put their money where their mouth is, and follow through. So far Fr. Frank has endorsed Missy Smith, but my wife tells me that she posted a link on Fr. West’s face book wall, and it has been deleted. Fr. West is associated with Priests for Life. Also, April Klazema, Communications and blogger relations supervisor has contacted me in regards to interviewing Fr. Frank. I am currently attempting to set this up. The Susan B. Anthony list also contacted me and has inquired into my interest in linking blogs and information. So, I will be holding off any commentary on either of these groups until I hear (or don’t hear) back.

We will start with the National Right to Life. This group most recently supported pro death Senator Scott Brown in Massachusetts, and have had questionable endorsements for years, if not decades. The National Right to Life is the most prominent pro-life group out there, and they have embraced and practiced incrementalism from the onset. This group, more than any other in the nation, has lead the pro life movement into the abyss where it continues to languish as a gutted and inconsequential movement, that only now looks like it has life because of the tea party. Again, taking credit for work done by others.

From the National Right to Life, we can look at many if not most of the State Right to Life organizations, which for the most part, tow the line with the National office. They sell their wares as if they are truly pro life, and end up endorsing the ‘lesser of the evil’ candidates and peddle this as pro life. Little accountability of those elected, and the elected congressmen and Senators have little to no fear of these groups. These groups, almost to a ‘tee’ do not use controversial and charged language, and downplay graphic images. They play softball with the enemy and try to sell this as the major league.

Then we have the press, which starts from the USCCB on down to the diocesan level, to the ‘ghetto’ press, the Internet presence, blogs and internet sites that want to claim to be the number one source of pro-life news. (I do have to give Kudos to Steve Ertelt and life news for covering Missy’s campaign, but we need to see more, a lot more) these are some of the same groups that gripe about ‘media blackout’ but are guilty of doing this to Mrs. Smith’s campaign. Please, don’t gripe in the future when the MSM does this to you in the future. This is called sowing and reaping.

This is an opportunity for the pro life movement to do something that will get the attention of the elite in this country, but those in charge of the organizations must understand that it will move them beyond their comfort zones, and ‘piss off’ the enemy. The way God wants it to be.

A TRUE PRO LIFE HERO

George Offerman

The past few weeks have culminated with overwhelming evidence of how ‘out of it’ the so called pro life movement is. The central piece of ending this holocaust is the Supreme Court, and as USUAL, the supposed pro life movement and its supposed pro life leadership is too busy writing panty waste fund raising letters advocating support and painting their sub mediocre efforts as actual efforts to end this holocaust, while totally ignoring the REAL BATTLEFRONT and ignoring those who are really out there causing a ‘crisis of conscious’ among the few who may still listen. With the incompetence and impotence of these so called ‘leaders’ the politicians out there have NO FEAR of losing their seats and are not being held accountable for their treachery.

The treachery from the supposed pro life movement and its supposed pro life leadership runs the gamut from the supposed pro life internet presence that fails to report any activities that challenge the status quo, and threatens to make themselves look controversial. One can then move to the ‘National” groups who colluded with the enemy by their silence on this topic, while condemning those who were in the street taking the ‘bullets for the babies’. One then can look at the deadly silence of the Churches, and how they continued to give flowery pabulum to the asleep congregations in ignoring this issue, to the USCCB that didn’t even bother to make a comment. All of these groups should be greatly ashamed of themselves and repent of their sin. But they won’t, because they are too arrogant.

Yes, there were a few brave souls out there during this last true battle to filibuster Kagan, and to bring awareness of how anti life she is. Their efforts were covered by the Mainstream Media, and they created a stir wherever they went. Yes, I am referring to Randall Terry and the Insurrecta Nex team that made a heroic effort in attempting to raise the awareness to the masses how horrible Ms. Kagan will be concerning what we supposedly cherish in this country. Although Randall Terry is a hero in my eyes, this posting is not about him. It is about a man few have heard of, (and he wanted it that way) but nonetheless, he was a true warrior for the babies, and truly brought the ‘fear of God’ into those who were anti life, and to those pro lifers who didn’t have backbones.

When this man died, his funeral had to be moved to a larger town to accommodate all of the people who attended both the wake and funeral mass. Besides the standing room only crowd, several priests and the Bishop were there, as well as some prominent politicians. And this funeral took place in the dead of winter in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. God took this warrior out of the game too soon, as far as I’m concerned, and I know he would be very unhappy with me making public many of his exploits. This man really believed that one should keep as many deeds secret as to build treasures in heaven, and held and practiced this belief consistently throughout his life. The man I speak of is no other than my greatest hero, and my late father George V. Offerman.

This high school educated brick layer took his faith seriously, and stepped up to the plate concerning legalized child killing. There was not one instance in which if he did not speak up if he overheard any comments made about keeping child killing legal. He lost more friends than I can count, and even had his own family members chastise him for his beliefs, but he never budged, never compromised. He ended up taking over and revitalizing the Iron County Right to Life group, and became such a big name in the Upper Peninsula, that he was in demand to teach others how to set up pro life organizations that had the success of his.

One day, the phone rang, and he had to go into the living room to talk. It sounded like any other business phone call until I overheard him state to the caller that “If you ever turn against pro life, I will make sure you never get back into office”. After he hung up, I remember asking him “Who were you talking to, and why were you so harsh? He responded non chalantly, “Oh, it was John Engler. He is running for Governor and wants my endorsement.” John Engler was elected Governor of Michigan in 1991, and served until 2003. My dad never told this story to anyone, and had no need to brag about it. There are numerous stories I could relate about my dad that are similar to this, and most likely more that I have no idea about, but this was the way he fought this fight. On the battle field and letting the results speak for themselves. My dad also had a strong opinion about those who ‘brag’ about their exploits, that they most likely were selling snake oil, and need to get out and prove themselves.

If my dad were alive, he would be most disgusted by the wimps and weenies who sell themselves as pro lifers. He would be most disgusted with the huge amount of fund raising going on with little to no results. My dad wanted to meet Randall Terry as he was a great fan of Operation Rescue as it was then, and he liked the idea that Randall was in the field of battle and going to jail for his beliefs. My dad once told me, without even having met Randall, that “I would take a bullet for someone like that”. I’m sure my dad would have liked to meet Troy Newman (in a dark alley), and would tell people like Steve Ertelt to get off the couch and get into the real arena of the fight. My dad would have the biggest problem with the Church he loved, and would be the first one chastising both Priests and Bishops for serving communion to baby killers. This is a man who would have left no doubt about his thoughts on the pathetic nature of today’s pro life movement. Love him or hate him, he was the genuine article, and you could count on him. Characteristics absent in the current crop of leaders in the so called pro life movement.

CALL FOR A KAGAN FILIBUSTER NOW!

George Offerman

Now that we know the weak and sellout weenie Republicans are backing off on the filibuster, it is time for the pro life leadership to call these people out. I have been in the pro life movement since 1982, and it has always been understood that the Supreme Court has been ‘ground zero’ in the fight to overturn Roe and Doe. It goes beyond any words in the English language, to describe the inaction, sellout, and deliberate dereliction of duty by our elected officials, nearly all of the pro life groups, and especially the Churches.

Kagan has got to be one of the most unqualified individuals to ever be nominated for the Supreme Court. She is also a ‘very good friend’ of the Anointed One, and once described the anointed one as being ‘transparent, honest, full of integrity and you get what you see”. Well we know where that has gone, don’t we? This woman worships at the table of Fabian Socialism, and her heroes, who were both justices and were extreme activists and one was from Israel, and believed in laws that are contrary to our constitution and Bill of Rights. And we are doing little to nothing to stop this?

Kagan outright lied about the situation of removing military recruiters from the Harvard campus, and was called out on this. Kagan also refused to answer straight forward questions pertaining to contemporary issues, and was blasted by the likes of Orrin Hatch and others, only to have them turn tail and sell out. This woman has a checkered past in both her personal and professional life, and is about to be appointed to a lifetime position that will end up very detrimental to this country, as well as the babies, who will continue to shed their blood in the name of convenience and ‘personal rights’.

Now, for those ‘pro life’ Senators, especially Kyl, McConnell, Sessions, Graham and Hatch: Do not have the audacity to call yourself pro life advocates. You have brought shame and embarrassment to what is truly pro life, you have sold out the babies for the sake of convenience, and you have no fear of God’s law, which you so adamantly claim to be following. Do not claim that you are representing the Christian way of life, do not claim you are sticking to your ‘core beliefs’ concerning life, do not claim that incremental change is the prescribed way of doing business when it comes to legalized child killing, and especially do not claim you are in, or represent the party of God. Your lack of will in filibustering this extremely liberal and unqualified nominee is one of the greatest injustices of your careers, and has only deadly ramifications to it, which will soon play out.

For all those ‘pro life’ groups who constantly fund raise, promising that your donations are helping ‘us win the war’: Where are you? Have you all not preached that the Supreme Court is the most direct route in abolishing legalized child killing? Why are there not busloads of your groups coming to the capitol to protest this, and to demand this charade end? Where is your sense of Christian duty when it comes to showing up on the real battlefield (hint: doing virtual protests and signing petitions that will never be read). Where is your true conviction when it comes to the very obvious fight that needs to be fought? Why are you taking shots at those few who are actually willing to be on the battlefield and actually cause a ‘crisis of consciousness’ in those that need to be called out on their bad behaviors and contradictory philosophies? Where do you get off believing you have the ‘moral high ground’ when your (in) action is resulting in more babies deaths?

Where are you Bishops, Shepherds, Priests, Ministers and other Church Leaders on this great injustice and abomination that stinks to the high heavens? Where is your fearless leadership and clear teachings to lead the faithful to victory over this curse? Where is your passion and conviction in this matter? No, unfortunately the Church has voluntarily muzzled itself with the IRS and is compliant to the commands and demands of the god/state. The Church has taken its marching orders from them, and has been given its coveted 501 C 3 status, and is quite content to give lip service to the supposed ‘crisis of the century’. These Senators ought to be thrown out of all their Faith communities, but will instead be rewarded by them, and will be praised for their milquetoast and yellow bellied ‘efforts’. The lukewarm calling the mediocre “heroes’.

In the mean time, the real battlefield is nearly devoid of real warriors, and the majority of Christians, once again will be MIA on the real battle field. There will be plenty of excuses why this is, and those unwilling to engage in battle will be hypercritical of those with the God given sense to fight this fight. This is why the country is finished. This is why Satan laughs at us. This is why the milquetoast and yellow bellied politicians pay no attention to the pro life movement. This is exactly why there is no fear of God by this godless society, and why there is no end in sight for this curse.

NANCY, NANCY, NANCY....

George Offerman

Nancy Pelosi just can’t seem to get her scripture right. As far as her ‘religious’ position is concerned, she has distorted it, no, outright manufactured it, and is attempting to peddle it as truth. There are a few very interesting points concerning Ms. Pelosi’s admission about her admission in ‘following Jesus’ and his teachings. The first is how she can distort the scripture to the point of manufacturing statements she made. The second is how the media made no issue of Ms. Pelosi making blatant comments about Jesus, and using Scripture and ’Christianity’ to formulate her policy. But most importantly, the deafening silence of the Bishops and other Shepherds, who have essentially given Ms. Pelosi a free pass on her much fractured Scripture lesson.

Ms. Pelosi made the claim that she is into ‘the Word’ and uses it to formulate her positions. Here are some of her words about the ‘Word’.

They ask me all the time, ‘What is your favorite this? What is your favorite that? What is your favorite that?’ And one time, ‘What is your favorite word?’ And I said, ‘My favorite word? That is really easy. My favorite word is the Word, is the Word. And that is everything. It says it all for us. And you know the biblical reference, you know the Gospel reference of the Word.

And that Word is, we have to give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the values of the Word. The Word. Isn’t it a beautiful word when you think of it? It just covers everything. The Word.

Fill it in with anything you want. But, of course, we know it means: ‘The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.’ And that’s the great mystery of our faith. He will come again. He will come again. So, we have to make sure we’re prepared to answer in this life, or otherwise, as to how we have measured up.

http://hotair.com/archives/2010/06/01/pelosi-we-need-partial-birth-abortions-for-jesus-or-something/

Evidently, Ms. Pelosi is not familiar with Jesus statement in Matt 18:16, when he warns against harming the ‘little ones’ that it be better that a millstone be placed around their neck and cast into the sea. Or Matt 19:14 in which Jesus wants the little children to come to him. OR Matt 5:17-20 in which Jesus boldly proclaims that he has not come to ‘abolish the law, but to fulfill it’ and in the next versus warns against those who dare to change, then teach against the law, and the consequences of those actions. Or Matt 5:13-16 calling believers to be ‘salt of the earth’, and again, what happens if the salt loses its flavor. None of these verses refers to changing teachings and not following them, and gives major consequences for those daring to change them. Also, there is no evidence whatsoever, that the Bible would point to the validation of legalized child killing. Ms. Pelosi is evidently making up Bible verses, and is feeling rather smug in her assertions that she is following through on what the Word of God states. Get those millstones ready.

Ms. Pelosi is also getting a ‘free pass’ on her open discussion of Jesus with the media. Had a true conservative done something remotely close to what Ms. Pelosi did, all ‘hell’ would break loose, and the individual would minimally be denounced, and accused of not separating church and state, and be required to retract the statement. Given Ms. Pelosi’s standing with the MSM, she will get away with this. However, the real reason may be that she sold such a liberal idea of Jesus that she may have been doing the MSM and Obama some good, by making such a personal statement, using her position of Speaker to give her more credibility to enhance this theological stance. This coupled with the fact that not one church leader has come forward to challenge any of this.

This leads to the last point, and that is of the dereliction of duty by the Church. This woman has been allowed to represent her very sinful beliefs and behaviors as the official stance of the Church, and it has gone nearly unchallenged by the Bishops. Too many people outside, as well as inside the church look upon this lack of action as a de facto agreement with her position. This woman has pushed every imaginable form of legalized child killing, and has gone up to receive communion as if she has every right to be there as those who live by faith. The Bishops breed too much confusion, and it will ultimately be on their heads when, as Ms. Pelosi likes to say “he will come again’. There needs to be statements made by someone in the Church, who has the ‘gonads’ to stand up for orthodoxy. Otherwise, we might as well just read the Bible ourselves, and never step foot again in any of these heretic churches.

USCCB SELLS OUT

George Offerman

An article that appeared in the May 20, 2010 issue of the Wanderer, titled “The Divine Right of Democrats” by Christopher Manion goes into significant detail as to the nature of the USCCB’s apparent ‘lack of potency’ in matters of faith and morals in America. It seems that there are alternative explanations as to why this particular board appears so incompetent concerning the faith and Morals of the Church, and why they are absent in the larger discussions of issues such as legalized child killing, and the subsequent ignoring of the Holy Communion issues with Cannon 915.

Mr. Manion makes the case that the USCCB shows more unity in their condemnation of those who supported the Arizona Immigration policy than in opposing the laws and positions of the political elite that are contrary to the Catholic Church. But the charge that Mr. Manion levies against the USCCB is the fact that the USCCB is really focused on what Mr. Manion terms this groups ‘first priority’. First priority refers to that which the group wants more than anything else, regardless of what they claim to stand for. So if one wants to know the real ‘political score’ then look no further than what a group is receiving from the politicians, and thus, one will know what they really stand for.

Mr. Manion makes the case that the Catholic Church receives around $2 billion annually between monies given to Catholic Charities, Catholic universities and hospitals, and “tens of millions a year more for the USCCB itself”. In exchange, the USCCB has downplayed their position on legalized child killing, and have promoted a more left leaning socialistic agenda reminiscent of the Democratic position on many ‘social justice’ matters and has been very verbal in their dismissal of those opposed to these positions. They have also protected those ‘Catholic’ politicians by defending their right to continue receiving Holy Communion under the rubric of ‘self examination’, and have allowed their teaching authority to be usurped by the likes of Nancy Pelosi, who has demanded support from the pulpit in the matter of ‘immigration reform’.

Mr. Manion confirms what has been suspected for some time, and actually stated by a few of the brave Bishops, that the body of the USCCB is fearful of losing not only the billions from the government if they stood up for the teachings of the church, but also of their coveted 501 C 3 tax exempt status. This is easily observed by looking at what the Bishops have condemned in the recent past, and currently, as well as what they have affirmed either through pastoral letters or through their silence. It is clear that the USCCB is not following their first love, which is supposed to be the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but instead, are relying upon the generosity of a man made structure that has little concern for their belief systems.

The USCCB is being a very good pet ‘yorkie’ and laying quietly on the laps of their masters, only to make noise when their funding or tax exempt status appears to be threatened. Their behaviors are very predictable, and one knows nearly all the time what position they will take, depending upon the contemporary feel of the Democratic Party. This body does not represent the true teachings of the Catholic Church anymore, and it is high time that the laity recognizes this fact, and begins to act on it by no longer funding them in any way, shape or form. As stated in earlier posts, if the USCCB has more allegiance to this government and their ways of doing business, then they should send all of their fund raising letters and financial requests to the IRS.

It is truly scandalous that the USCCB will not protect the integrity of Holy Communion and the sanctity of life by insisting legalized child killing end, and reserves their harshest criticism for those who advocate obeying both civil and church law. These men have lost their first love for the Gospel, and seem to trust in men more than the God they claim to serve. This body really has no moral right to demand financial support from the faithful, when the area not carrying out the Gospel mandates, and have no intention of doing so. The USCCB is more loyal to a band of renegade socialists (whose days are numbered) and show contempt for those who send in hard earned cash, and want to live by the principles of the Gospel.

As many believe and have alluded to the GOP being the party of God, the USCCB, through their actions, seem to mirror the whims of the Democratic Party, and by proxy, have elevated the Democratic platform to that of a divine right. It is unimaginable that God would be for the wholesale slaughter of his most innocent, and is for the callous violation of national laws such as legalized immigration. But here we have it, the most influential group of the American Catholic Church consistently voting with their wallets, and working the hardest at not ‘offending’ their masters, and thus showing, they truly don’t care about the salvation of these individuals, or the betterment of society through the true proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

LATE TO THE PARTY

George Offerman

The USCCB has put out a statement that is asking Catholics to contact their representatives and oppose the “abortion option”. This statement is part of an updated bulletin that is to be inserted into parish bulletins this weekend. The problem is, Obama is attempting to get this demonic legislation through before the weekend. As usual, the USCCB is way behind on the issue, and this last move shows the impotence of their organization and their inability in having any significant sway in the national dialogue. They, again, are putting the burden on the laity to do their job, when it is the Bishops themselves that should be warning the wayward, so called “Catholic” politicians that their eternal salvation is at risk if they continue to push this garbage.

It is the Bishops who should be leading this charge; they should have been making press statements daily, confronting these politicians on a regular basis, upholding Cannon 915 as they are mandated to do, and preaching against the potentials for abuse in all the areas of health care, especially the impending rationing of care, and the INEVITABLE DEATH PANELS that will go along with rationing. Instead, they are narrowly focused on encouraging the laity to send the following message to House and Senate members:

MESSAGE – HOUSE:
“I am pleased that the House health care bill maintains the longstanding policy against federal funding of abortion. On the other hand, the provisions on abortion funding in the current un-amended Senate health care bill are seriously deficient and unacceptable. I urge you to work to uphold essential provisions against abortion funding, to include full conscience protection and to ensure that health care is accessible and affordable for all. I urge you to oppose any bill unless and until these criteria are met.”

MESSAGE – SENATE:
“I am deeply disappointed that the current un-amended Senate health care bill fails to maintain the longstanding policy against federal funding of abortion and does not include adequate protection for conscience. I urge you to support essential provisions against abortion funding, similar to those in the House bill. Include full conscience protection and ensure that health care is accessible and affordable for all. I urge you to oppose any bill unless and until these criteria are met.”

WHEN: Votes in the House and Senate are expected at any time. Act today! Thank You!

Why in the world would the USCCB wait until the last minute to do much about this? Is it that they know how little influence they have in the national debates? And if this is true, who is responsible for this? Maybe it is they know who their real masters are? Perhaps their favored 501 C 3 status will be taken away if they say the wrong things? No matter which, it is disheartening that they come up with such a weak document, weak response, and purposefully put it out the weekend after the vote is scheduled to take place. This does not demonstrate any type of leadership that will inspire the laity, and definitely puts ‘no fear of God” into wayward Catholic politicians. It is status quo once again.

I know when My Lenten appeals comes and other collections for this organization occur, I will slip a note in my envelope informing them that the IRS took (stole) my contribution, and to appeal to them for money. I have paid more than my fair share of taxes, and by default, other people’s health care, but have no say so in the matter. I will not give any more of MY hard earned money to an organization that will not even put in a half baked effort to stand up for the faith they claim to represent One of the few freedoms I have left is to tithe to whom is the most worthy of the funding, and right now, the leadership of the U.S. Catholic Church gets an F – for their grade. Unlike the Church or the Government, I will not voluntarily subsidize failure. Efforts don’t count, especially when they are phony and fruitless.

The USCCB is living out what they really are: an inconsequential weak group that does not follow through with what they claim to believe as evidenced by the lack of conviction in their response. We as laity cannot look to them for any real guidance or leadership in this very real spiritual war we are in. It is sad to say, but if we did the opposite of what they are doing and saying, it may actually get their attention, and they may have an epiphany, and become the leaders the Apostles would be proud of. When all the bad things begin to occur, they will be late to the party, and will have had no idea or insight into these events, and will be caught off guard, like the secularists. There is little to no urgency in their tone or actions, and it seems like they do not grasp the gravity of the times we live in. That’s why there is little surprise in their lack of response. Those of little faith have few fruits.

MOMENTS TO PONDER

George Offerman

Sometimes there are events in life that require some pondering and make one wonder if what is going on has ‘coincidental’ ties. I have lived in this are nearly 27 years now, and have not seen winter weather like this and to have hit an amount of snow not seen in a century, with possibly 20 more inches later today and tomorrow, has me thinking “What is going on here”. I will give full credit to my wife, Kathy, who first made this connection with the meetings that were supposed to take place on Feb 7-10

We are in the midst of unprecedented weather phenomena here in the Nation’s capital having back to back nor’easters, and according to the meteorologists is a phenomena not seen before in this area. Simultaneously, there is (was) a very controversial and scandalous four day event sponsored by the USCCB in which there were several groups to speak and present on topics ranging from abortion rights, pro child killing politicians receiving communion, same sex marriage, women’s ordination and other ‘progressive’ issues. This story has been well covered and followed by American Life League (ALL), and they have sourced pew sitter. Link below

One would have to wonder if God finally took some matters into his own hands. Looking at the lineup of this event, one could not help but come to the conclusion that this whole fiasco is nothing but stench in the nostrils of God, and of the highest evil magnitude for his church. It seems the Bishops continue to show they are indifferent to the teachings of the Church, and pay little to no attention to the Vatican and what they should be safeguarding. The Bishops seem too preoccupied with their own reputations and seeking approval of those who could care less about the Churches teachings and beliefs. They cannot claim ignorance to this, and are ultimately responsible and accountable for the speakers and content presented.

I don’t remember seeing a time in which the Federal Government closed for two days, the airports closed much of the time, public transportation virtually shut down, and for those trying to drive into the city, no way to get into the side streets, very little parking and absolutely no street parking. And on top of that, more to come, just in time to disrupt the final day or two of this disastrous event. This area is truly paralyzed, and I am very confident that if this event has gone on, it is having the attendance it deserves.

There are many who may disagree with these sentiments, and wonder if God would paralyze a whole region to stop such a scandal from occurring. I, for one, believe He would, and Scripture has many accounts in which God has intervened in the affairs of men to make his point. The question that really should be pondered is: Are we listening?

Most will write this off as a coincidence and see this snow as a nuisance, versus a warning to be heeded. There can sure be a lot worse that could happen other than 3-4 feet of snow to contend with, and it may be a signal of things to come if we continue promoting scandal as if it were legitimate teachings and true ways of our faith. When will the Bishops ‘get it’ and begin to reign in the scandal they are promoting and work on teaching the Faith as it is?

It also makes one wonder how long suffering our God is, and when he may finally run out of patience. As aggravated as many are getting by the weather, how would we deal with an event of the magnitude of Haiti? We can barely handle the snow here, and runs on food and other items, gas and power outages have shown how vulnerable we really are. Would we even recognize these events as redemptive or punitive? Or would we continue on with the status quo, or even blame God for not watching over us?

Any way one wants to look at this, the weather events of the past weekend, coupled with what is coming in the next few hours is unprecedented. The effects of this event will at least disappear with warm weather and we all may have ‘fond’ memories once the hot and humid weather returns. But it would be good for us to ponder how ‘coincidental’ these storms are, given what was taking place in the nation’s Capital, and how scandalous it truly is.
